Creating green intellectual capital in organizations

Sustainable development as one of the leading megatrends in the modern world significantly determines the market activity of companies. Increasing concern for the condition of the natural environment and climate change makes enterprises face the challenge of integrating environmental issues into their business activities. In recent years, in search of ways to improve ecological efficiency, attention has been paid to green intellectual capital as a specific intangible resource that supports the sustainable development of the organization. This monograph is an attempt to systematize the knowledge about this capital and its role in the process of building sustainable organizations and strengthening their competitive advantage on the market. Theoretical considerations focus on discussing the specificity of green relational capital and characterizing its main components. The empirical part presents the results of the author's own research on the scope of implementation of practices aimed at the accumulation of this capital in Polish enterprises and their impact on the competitiveness of the studied entities. The main barriers in the process of accumulation of green intellectual capital and the methods of overcoming them were also discussed.
