The Central Archives of Modern Records in Warsaw, one of three Polish central state archives, stores now over 37,5 kilometers shelfs of the archival documents. Mostly these are archival documents produced and collected by institutional entities (state administration offices, political parties, associations, banks). Alongside them in the Archives there are private papers (documents produced and collected by privete persons) and various themed collections. This article is an attempt of the short characteristics of type and quantity of this part of documents of the Archives.
