Synopsis

The chapter explores the experience of archival and archeographic work at the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which preserves political history documents dating back to 1918. It highlights the specifics of preparing and publishing documentary collections, including large-scale projects on declassification of archival funds, the publication of materials on forced deportations, the Alash movement, political repressions, and the tragedy of the Kazakh aul. The study emphasizes the scholarly value of these publications in filling historiographical gaps and providing researchers with access to previously restricted sources. The archeographic activities of the Archive are presented as an essential tool for preserving historical memory and promoting objective research into the key events of the twentieth century.
