Premarital sexual activity in Karwów in the years 1795–1920

Premarital sexual activity of the rural population, before the sexual revolution of the 1960s, is a largely unexplored topic. It was often the cause of many social problems related either to the material care of single mothers or the position of an illegitimate child and his mother in rural society. In the article the author presented the topic of illegitimate children and the issue of premarital conceptions in the years 1795-1920, which were analyzed in terms of social origin, the age of parents at the time of childbirth or the mortality of illegitimate children.
