TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGIES SUPPORTING OLDER PEOPLE IN TERMS OF DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY
Synopsis
Digital accessibility became a popular term among creators of websites and mobile applications. Today, assistive technologies are a necessary part of modern disability people’s life. These technologies can be also helpful in the everyday life of older people. These people have special needs similar to people with disabilities. Nowadays, older people are more active and want to communicate using computer devices, e.g., smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Well-defined accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, WAI-ARIA) allow to build specialized tools for them. This paper presents examples of technologies and tools supporting older people in digital life.
