STUDENT’S FEEDBACK ON THE ATTITUDE OF THE OLDER PERSONS IN THE 21ST CENTRURY
Synopsis
The purpose of this research was to present the picture of the functioning of the seniors and determine the attitude of students towards ageism. To obtain the results, research was conducted on 110 students from Poland who anonymously answered the questions contained in the form. Analyzed responses of interviewers indicate that with age and seniority of studies, students are more prepared and willing to cooperate with the elderly, as indicated by average, although the differences are not statistically significant. Similarly, age and field of study don’t differentiate attitudes towards older people. Only over half of the respondents presented a positive attitude towards the elderly. Thus, it can be concluded that ageism is still present nowadays, which indicates stereotyping and prejudice against the elderly.
