THEATER SOCIALLY INVOLVED AS A METHOD OF INCLUSION OF SENIORS

Synopsis

The socially engaged theater (TZS) is existing next to the theater mainstream, recently developing in Poland and appreciated in the world form of working with a group using drama and theater techniques. Theater socially engaged projects are thoroughly interdisciplinary activities, combining knowledge, including in fields such as psychology, pedagogy, sociology, theater and cultural anthropology. They usually result in moving performances, most often based on real life events (com-munities / participants) in various ways involving viewers to work on the issue outlined in the performance, engaging and recognizing the audience as an integral part of the meeting. In this article, we attempt to outline terminological difficulties and attempt to define the characteristics of TZS and present one of the activities that aims to counteract exclusion of the elderly.
