SAFETY OF THE ELDERLY PEOPLE – VICTIMOLOGICAL ASPECTS

The safety of the elderly constitutes the serious social issue, which on account of disorders of the demographic structure in the world, perhaps to grow stronger. Elderly people, although are more rarely victims of crimes in comparing to other age groups, of them victimization a worse determination has consequences. The elderly is most often victims of home violence, for which effects concern not only a physical and psychological damage but above all of moral injustice. He is supplying it with fear and fear of criminal acts and in the process is deepening the isolation and is disturbing the sense of security. The aim of the article is to identify the risk factors and characteristics of the perpetrator of violence against older people and presenting suggestions how to prevent this violence and ensure the safety of seniors.
