WOMEN'S 60 PLUS QUALITY OF LIFE
Synopsis
Aging is a problem for the developed countries of the world. People aged 60+ constitute a large and diverse group, still dominated by women. Many of them are in good health, have extensive experience and extensive competences that are also useful in times of change. This study presents the results an own questionnaire research on the quality of life of women aged 60+ and their needs in this respect. The presented study presents the views of 104 women, residents of the Polish capital, participating in the activities of the University of the Third Age and the Senior Club. During the research it was found that the existence of older people is filled with various activities. Many of them realise traditional roles in traditional places such as a role of a grandmother or a participant in a community of churches. However many of them want more. The respondents want to enrich their existence. They want to educate themselves and visit unknown places. They want to focus on themselves, on their own development and participation in cultural life. They want social gatherings and the organization of new communities. Most of the respondents are satisfied with their lives. The most important problems of the respondents are insufficient financial resources, diseases and fatigue.
