Synopsis

The elderly population increases every year. Population ageing has become a continuous process and forecasts for the coming years indicate that the share of seniors in the population will continue to increase. Providing social assistance and support for this group requires instructing appropriate staff. The text presents the image of seniors seen by Polish and Russian students preparing to become social workers. The survey was conducted among 105 people studying at the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce and the Omsk State University of F.M. Dostoyevsky. Stu-dents’ opinions reveal that their perception of elderly people is positive.
