POVERTY AS A PROBLEM FOR SOCIAL INCLUSION AND EDUCATION OF ELDERLY PEOPLE IN BULGARIA

The topic of social inclusion and guaranteeing the rights of the elderly is especially relevant in modern Bulgarian society. People of retirement age are a group whose rights are often neglected, and they themselves are often excluded from the decision-making process concerning their full participation in social life. The problems in this direction vary – from disregard for views and opinions to guaranteeing the right to a modern standard of living, presupposing social exclusion and / or marginalization. Poverty is considered one of the main reasons for the social exclusion of the elderly. The article presents realities and alternatives for social inclusion overcoming poverty of the elderly through education.
