PROBLEMS OF THE SOCIAL INCLUSION OF SENIOR CITIZENS IN THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA

The article outlines the main characteristics of people in the third age group - the elderly. Special attention was paid to their open problems in the Republic of Bulgaria, related to: poverty, low pensions, poor health care, negative public opinion, alienation, and loneliness. Outstanding problems in the institutions for the elderly are also outlined. The essence, peculiarities, and place of social inclusion in the life of the elderly are revealed. “The National Strategy for Active Life of the Older People in Bulgaria (2019-2030)” is presented.
