Synopsis

Territorial integrity and security are key functions of state institutions. Preparing young people to ensure the security and integrity of the country is a process that requires constant monitoring and adequate modification to changing political and economic conditions. Organizational changes to the preparatory service system create a new quality of education for safety. The chapter presents new conditions in the field of education and training of youth in secondary schools. A new approach to acquiring knowledge, skills and competences that a modern soldier (regular) should have been subjected to a multifaceted analysis. Presented is the program scope of training carried out under innovative programs of defense training or education for security and training programs for members of non-governmental organizations. New technologies and knowledge in the field of didactics and pedagogy create a constantly chan-ging training system. Economics and logistics also play an important role in the preparation of personnel reserves of the Polish Armed Forces. Modified training pro-grams were presented, aimed at optimizing this process, taking into account various factors, such as professional attractiveness, social demand, the evolution of cultural factors and, above all, the requirements of the modern army. Liberalization in the perception of threats in the contemporary world creates a more tolerant approach to real security threats. They are usually seen in terms of nonmilitary solutions, on the political level and within international alliances. Many countries are trying in various ways to make military and defense training more attractive, to acquire qualified personnel from personal reserves in the event of military and nonmilitary threats – forcing the appo-intment of soldiers who are in reserve.
