Synopsis

Allowing people to be innovative and to use other rights and freedoms, the right to privacy protects human dignity and opens up opportunities for independent life and personality development. Fast technical development and globalization have brought new challenges for the protection of personal data as part of privacy protection. Technology has transformed both economy and social life, and should further facilitate the free flow of personal data within the European Union and to third countries and international organizations, while ensuring a high level of personal data protection.
