Selected aspects of the functioning of National Cybersecurity System in Local Government Units: A case of the Masovian Voivodeship
Synopsis
The scope of providing services in the field of e-administration by local governments in cyberspace and the transmission and processing of information in ICT systems has increased significantly over the last 15 years. At the same time, local governments have become a potential subject of attacks and hacks into resources collected in digital space. This resulted in the need to identify threats in cyberspace and to use effective countermeasures in the event of security breach attempts. Mazovian voivodeship has been selected as the area of the present research to study cybersecurity in the local government. In recent years, there has been a constantly growing tendency for citizens to handle matters in local government offices in electronic form. Therefore, ensuring the security of information processing in the ICT systems of offices is becoming one of the most important challenges facing local governments.
