Information security in the provision of remote work
Synopsis
Remote work, also referred to as teleworking, involves performing tasks entrusted by the employer to be performed outside the company headquarters - usually at home. It has many advantages both from the employee's and employer's perspective. As the teleworker moves outside the parent company's headquarters, the information and IT systems necessary to do the work move. This results in a much easier materialization of information security threats. This chapter presents the essence and advantages of remote work and the main threats to information security resulting from the specifics of this form of employment. Attention was also paid to key issues related to the security of information and ICT systems.
