Asymmetry of information in technology companies
Synopsis
The paper presents the concept of information asymmetry and its possible consequences for owners of technology companies and financial investors supporting their development projects. High-tech enterprises are knowledge-based entities, characterized by a high level of innovation and expenditure on research and development activities, large investment needs and high potential for long-term value growth. An attempt was made to verify the following thesis: In the case of technology companies whose development is supported by financial investors, there is a large information asymmetry that may lead to management abuses in relation to other shareholders.
