Synopsis

Relations between the North Atlantic Alliance and Russia in recent years undergone a significant transformation. From attempts to establish cooperation through normalization to the open hostility of Russia. Vladimir Putin’s period of power was particularly abundant in changes. This article not only illustrates the process of these changes. The author also focused attention on their key causes. At the same time, emphasized the common interests despite the differences. An important part is the reference to the strategic culture of the Russian Federation, which largely determines the nature of NATO-Russia relations.
