SAFETY OF THE INDIVIDUAL IN LITERATURE

Individual security is currently of growing interest to researchers in se-curity sciences. The article presents definitions of this security, formulated by politicians and academics. Because researchers still do not agree on an unequivocal understanding of the concept of the security of an individual, the article refers to many definitions, because each of them contains a particle (definition element). Behind Fen Osler Hampson presented three concepts of understanding the security of an individual are found in the literature. The key question of the article concerns the question of whether, in the perspective of security sciences, individual security should be treated as an independent concept or as an element of national security.
