Youth commune council as an institution supporting and propagating the local government idea
Synopsis
A youth commune council is an organization associating young people to act for a given local self-government community. The mission of this body is to shape active civic attitudes among young people, through the opportunity to express opinions and make decisions in matters concerning them. Young citizens also acquire the ability to consult and evaluate the activities of local self-government bodies. The aim of the chapter is to present the organizational and legal conditions of the youth commune council as an institution supporting and disseminating the local government idea by indicating the purpose of establishing and legal basis of its operation, discussing the internal organization and competences of this body. In further considerations, the work phases of the youth commune council and their participation in decision-making processes will be presented.
