SECURITY OF THE STATE, NATION AND A CITIZEN IN THE CONSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND – AN OUTLINE OF THE ISSUES

Synopsis

The article concerns the constitutional approach to the problem of security. It presents the basic regulations referring to the state, nation and a citizen in the currently binding Constitution of the Republic of Poland - the highest legal act of the Republic of Poland (consisting of a preamble and 13 chapters covering 243 articles), adopted on April 2nd, 1997 by the National Assembly and approved by nationwide referendum on May 25th, 1997, which entered into force on October 17th of the same year. The aim of the article is to make an initial assessment of the state of security research in the doctrine of constitutional law, as well as to provide a diagnosis in the field of the normative state. The article also points to the need for a new safety category reference. It is not only the citizen or the state itself, but above all the Republic of Poland, perceived as a common good.
