ORGANIZATION OF THE NATIONAL RESCUE AND FIREFIGHTING SYSTEM IN THE LIGHT OF THE DRAFT ACT ON THE NATIONAL RESCUE SYSTEM
Synopsis
In peacetime, tasks in the field of civil protection and the elimination of local threats are carried out by full–time services, such as The State Fire Service, the State Emergency Medical Services, the Police, inspections, guards, municipal services, as well as social organizations as well as separate branches and sub–units of the Polish Armed Forces. Their activities are often supported by local people who are the first to witness local events or disasters. The social potential is many times higher than the rescue forces of the services available to the event, and their support, especially in the phases of pre-vention, response and liquidation of the effects of extensive disasters is invaluable. The leading role in the process of civil protection and counteracting extraordinary threats and the elimination of their effects is played by the State and Volunteer Fire Brigades, which form the National Rescue and Fire Fighting System. His activities in the subject area are supported by the above–mentioned entities, which carry out tasks directly and indirectly in the field of protection and rescue of the population.
