Proxy wars in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA) – the case of the Syrian war
Synopsis
The strength of a democratic state is based on the moral values of citizens, their propensity for prosocial activities and recognition of the primacy of the common good over individual aspirations. It is the common good that is the basic factor connecting citizens to one community. The formulating social structure becomes a rigid system there and impassable barriers that prevent a large part of society from realizing their desires. Wealth, power and prestige focused on one pole of the social hierarchy develop areas of misery, subordination and humiliation at the other pole. Such a social structure cumulates a certain crisis potential manifested in mass dissatisfaction with the existing order, sense of injustice, attempts to escape from reality to alternative forms of social life or decisions on emigration. The aim of the assumptions is to analyze Russian activities on the territory of Syria, mainly their motives and the effects of these activities.
