From rivarly to the regional chaos. Has the era of proxy wars in the Middle East come?

Since the days of the Cold War proxy wars are the effective substitute way of weakening the enemy. Now, taking into account the increase in the role of terrorist groups in international relations, surrogate warfare will become more important, turning into a key component of the settlement of regional and international conflicts. Proxy war is in fact preferred form of commitment to the side that is trying to exert influence on others, because at the same time moves the vulnerability and risk of escalation of the conflict away from its territory. This article is primarily aims to relate the term proxy war to the current complex and conflictual situation in the Middle East.
