The effectiveness of resocializational interactions in Youth Educational Centers – disappointment and hope
Synopsis
In the modern materialized world people expect high efficiency. This applies to both the production sphere and services, provided by various social institutions and organizations. Lack of efficiency raises certain frustrations and consequences, which does not always cause a qualitative change and improvement of the existing state of affairs. The criticism of resocialization efficiency is the result of a misunderstanding as well as unrealistic expectations for social rehabilitation institutions. This criticism is rarely also a constructive premise to take corrective actions of specific institutions. The postulated expectations should be directed primarily not only to individual units but also towards the rehabilitation system, whose characteristics are multi-track, isolation and disintegration of the system.
