Inclusion in education versus cultural diversity of schools. SEN – multiculturalism – institutional contexts

Synopsis

One of the groups of students in the Polish educational system with special educational needs (SEN) are children brought up in different cultures. The article is an attempt to assess inclusive education taking into account the situation of culturally different children in the realities of the school. School as an institution has specific tasks and must develop new educational strategies based on equal opportunities and opportunities for harmonious development. This is connected with the idea of inclusive education, which should be implemented in the following areas: institutional system of school diagnostics and support, development of diagnostic tools for school, other organization of school work using the language of a native culturally different child (additive model), dissemination of cultural assistants, methodical preparation of teachers, working out programs with a child with the SEN and assumption of the assumption in the school's mission about the comprehensive development of every child, regardless of ethnicity.
