Early support of child development with the autism spectrum – an example of inclusion education of an individual case

Synopsis

The presented article was devoted to the topic of supporting a child diagnosed with autism. It describes the current state of scientific knowledge, the most common clinical problems and developmental disorders resulting from the character of autism spectrum disorder, which is the subject of a lot of interdisciplinary scientific research. The article presents a case study of a boy with autism, who was provided with early development support. The results of the multiprofile assessment together with the determination of the development support program of the examined child were presented. The diagnosis and the developed early support program were focused on the basic development zones: physical development, cognitive development, communication, and social and emotional development. The summary of the diagnosis is an indication of the strengths and weaknesses of the examined child, as well as the definition of guidelines related to the organization of work with the child. The work regulations that I have defined with the examined child can be a valuable source of information on the effectiveness of the therapeutic process of this case study.
