Synopsis

Inclusive education is a proposal of a systemic change in the education of people with disabilities or other difficulties in development. Social knowledge about it is still inadequate and is an area that is hardly recognized. Too often, we associate inclusive education only with the participation of a child in mainstream education. Meanwhile, it is a more complex phenomenon whose recognition and understanding is shaped on the basis of experience, analysis of research results and personal reflection. The aim of the article is to present the results of research in the field of inclusive education, which were implemented in the province of Świętokrzyskie. They were surveys and focused on assessing the readiness of primary schools for inclusion education. Presented results are the part of a wider thematic study and are embedded in the social concept of disability, which assumes that the school should be prepared to accept a student with developmental limitations, and no student is required to adapt to the school conditions.
