Synopsis
The article discusses Był dom…, a book by Anna Szatkowska, the daughter of the writer Zofia Kossak. Memories from the time of the Warsaw Uprising written shortly after its fall constitute a separate part of the book. It is a testimony of actions, feelings and experiences.. The book describes military experiences and underground activity of Anna Szatkowska. Memoirs of the Warsaw Uprising are distinguished in the linguistic layer and in the form. It is also an attempt at self-therapy and a chronicle of family history, a postmemory discourse of the generation. The paper also presents the definition of ‘memoirs’ and literature of personal documents.
