Joy of understanding – understanding of joy. Notes about need and limits empathy in literary criticism

The article is an attempt to describe the condition of the writing about the latest polish literature. The author investigates the process of gradual impoverishment and despecification of the methods and the language of literary criticism. A special part of these considerations is devoted to the overview of the critic’s approaches to the condition of the discourse of the literary new criticism in Poland and the discussion of the postulate “privatization” of literary criticism.
