Tadeusz Zagoździński photojournalist, since 1963 associated with the Central Photographic Agency. Already at the age of 7 he took pictures of the destroyed Warsaw. Associated with press photography, he documented momentous political and social events. Known as Edward Gierek’s personal photographer, he also worked in the so-called “ground zero” during John Paul II’s pilgrimage to Poland. His achievements also include events related to the decline of communism in Poland, meetings at the BCC, where important decisions regarding the Polish economy were made during the difficult period of political transformation, as well as armed conflicts (including in Angola and Lebanon). Zagoździński also photographed landscapes and everyday life motifs. Therefore, the legacy of the photojournalist Tadeusz Zagoździński is an huge and extensive material for illustrating the history of Poland and the world in the years 1945-1993.
