City and County Public Library in Kolbuszowa gathers, elaborates on and makes available collections and archives being in its possession. Private archives and collections can be classified as such. Those collections are made of legacy of Kolbuszowa regionalists and citizens of old and they constitute of photographs, documents and letters mainly. A truly special collection owed by the library is collection called Documents of Social Life. They gather all possible documents, photographs and other objects that can become a precious source of information about the history of Kolbuszowa for future generations. A collection of old prints dated back to 16th–18th century and voulmes issued in the 19th century. The collection comes from a library of the All Saints’ parish in Kolbuszowa and is deposited with public library of Kolbuszowa. Digital copies of the parish register books of the All Saints’ parish
in Kolbuszowa from the period after 1640 can be found among the parish collection among others. The library makes the archive collections available to historians as well as to citizens being interested in them. They are used to prepare displays, publications, dissertations. Using the parish register books to examine genealogy of families has become really popular recently. The books are used not only by citizens of Kolbuszowa, but also fellow countrymen or descendants of Kolbuszowa citizens who live in other parts of Poland permanently, or even abroad. Collections acquainted while implementation of projects are frequently used for various publications, and also while different historic exhibitions are being organised.
