Kryzys miast polskich a nowe wyzwania w obliczu pandemii COVID-19

This article presents the issue of the urban crisis in the shaping of Polish urban space, as well as the crisis of urbanity that has arisen as a result of the development of the pandemic. The subject of the analysis is a juxtaposition of the challenges and development problems of Polish cities in the era of the so-called "era of instability", unknown in the 21st century. The overarching aim of the paper is to demonstrate the impact of the pandemic crisis on the challenges already known, the activities of urban decision-makers and the implementation of urban policies. To do so, the article first characterises the most dynamic and negative processes generating the urban space crisis in Poland. In the following part of the article, new challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic are presented. In conclusion, it is considered that urban policy should be updated. The priority now is to plan for the short term, to build resilient cities, and to return to traditional thinking about the city as a community.
