MĘŻCZYZNA JAKO SPRAWCA PRZEMOCY. O TOKSYCZNEJ RELACJI W POWIEŚCI "CENDRES ET BRAISES" KEN BUGUL

The aim of this article is to present the theme of domestic violence in the novel of Senegelese writer Ken Bugul Cendres et braises. An analysis of the situation of the main character is preceded by a short introduction explaining the concept of “domestic violence”. The author of this article attempts to analyse how this violence develops in Marie’s relationship, the dynamics between the victim and the abuser, as well as to show the consequences of a toxic relationship.
