PROROK MESJASZA. POSTAĆ NACHMANA W "KSIĘGACH JAKUBOWYCH" OLGI TOKARCZUK
Streszczenie
The article provides an analysis of the character of Nachman, a rabbi from Busko and Jacob Frank's closest companion. The hero is interpreted as a literary rather than historical figure. The analysis was carried out by taking into account the socio-cultural gender category and in the context of the figure of Jacob as a male-hegemonic subject. The Nachman-Hero appears as a weak male subject subordinate to hegemonic masculinity. The fact that Nachman also acts as the narrator has also been taken under consideration. The Nahman-narrator, creating a story about Jacob from his own point of view, gains considerable autonomy and, in a way, liberates himself from the domination of the hegemonic male subject.
