Streszczenie
The issue of the Holocaust has become an important content of extensive scientific research and educational activities. The subject is present in various disciplines such as history, sociology, literary studies, cultural studies and political science. As a part of social sciences security sciences deal with contemporary problems existing in local communities, countries and the global space. Genocide as an implication of radical ideologies, political extremisms and religious fundamentalism is not common in the modern world. However, political extremisms, religious fundamentalism, terrorism and international organized crime are the main sources of threats now, and conclusions drawn from the Holocaust may be important for understanding the phenomenon of contemporary threats. That is why, it is important to include elements of Holocaust education in security sciences. All the more so because, despite the institutionalization of peace and security actions, the world is not able to free itself from genocidal practices. In the educational process implemented in the discipline of security sciences, these issues may be included in the area of knowledge, skills and competences. Education about the Holocaust should, in particular, be included in such fields as national security, internal security compatible with the knowledge of contemporary political systems, competences of state power and internal, foreign and military policy.
