Bezpieczeństwo transgraniczne – teoretyczne ujęcie w zarysie

Due to civilization development, the conceptual scope of the term ‘security’ is systematically expanding with so far unknown challenges and threats as well as with new means and ways to eliminate them. Today security also means economic dependencies and interdependencies, issues of raw material resources, social and humanitarian matters, ecology, health, demography, issues related to maintaining national identity and ensuring proper participation in the civilization development of the modern world. Contemporary civilization development with the globalization process generates security threats that cannot be clearly classified into external or internal categories. They are interdependent, closely related and interpenetrating, and it is justified to call them cross-border threats. The above statements imply a need to separate the category of cross-border security, which is now becoming an important element of national security. The author undertakes cognitive identifica-tion of the term ‘cross-border security’, its essence and relations with other categories of security, conditions and elements shaping it and the possibilities of its design, indicating selected methods.
