Nowadays, a very broad understanding of the concept of national security is adopted, directing attention to non military elements that can influence the security of the state in any way. In addition to traditionally provided values such as the guarantee of surviva l of the state, territorial integrity, political
independence, in the proposed definitions of state security attention is paid to the quality of life, socio economic development, scope of civil rights and freedoms, cultural system, national lifestyle, and the condition of the natural environment. The context of possibilities and perspectives for further development is also crucial. This complexity creates difficulties in implementing security research and results in a variety of research methods used. Syste mic analysis is one of the methods to ensure a holistic and systemic approach to security research.
