Definitely different, the new role of the air force has been defined in operations where the core of the operation was to support peace activities of the international institutions to achieve political objectives without deploying regular troops on the territory of another state. In turn, when analysis of eff ects and consequences of the air force deployment in CRO is conducted, the following conclusions can be formulated: the air force was entrusted to perform stand alone operations without participation of any other types/services of military forces or troops. In some cases, their activities were directly related to the achievement of political objectives. The air force plays the ever greater role in the conflict prevention and its solution. Depending on the scale of the conflict and its characteristics, objectives and tasks of the air force vary. Strikes at Libya and Iraq were aimed at forcing political leaders to rethink state terrorism and WMD production issues. After the end of the Gulf War, the task of the air force was overseeing the Iraq compliance to the conditions of the truce. In the Kosovo operation, political objectives were to be achieved by the air force independently.
