PRZYGOTOWANIA DO WOJNY OBRONNEJ W POLSKIEJ SPÓŁDZIELCZOŚCI I POCZĄTKACH OKUPACJI HITLEROWSKIEJ (1938–1939)

This paper presents the countrywide action concerning preparation the Polish co-operatives in town and countryside for the support the defensive war against German aggression. These preparation had begun at 1938 engaged the top managers staff working in many types co-ops: mainly in consumer co-operatives, housing, trade agricultures. Several times they had meetings with representatives persons of state’s government for prepare the action support military efforts and every day’s needs of people, which obtained the large groups of nation. Co-ops had been good prepared for the new circumstances of war activities. They had collected the stock-pile of food, coal and fuel. Women working in co-ops had replaced men staff, which were mobilized. Very quickly the countrywide nets of consumer and agriculture co-ops had served as the support of The Polish Underground State.
