Archiwa Związku Harcerstwa Polskiego

The following paper on the history of archives of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association demonstrates how these institutions have been functioning since 1918 until now. We can find here a brief historical outline. Moreover, it shows different problems related to collecting and storing memorabilia and documents that this youth organisation faced over more than 100 years. The author describes people who once created and create scout archives today. They are also responsible for the appropriate organisation, collection or sharing of materials belonging to the Central Scout Archive, which in 2001 was transformed into the Museum of Scouting, based in Warsaw. The structure of the archival fonds at the Museum has been presented, naming a few collections that might be of some interest to users.
