Współpraca archiwum państwowego i kościelnego w zakresie nadzoru nad narastającym zasobem archiwalnym
Streszczenie
One of the most fundamental roles of historical archives is developing an archival fonds. Its primary goal is to completely preserve for posterity docu-ments of historical value that occur as an outgrowth of the fonds authors’ activity. This function is becoming extremely important due to the mass production of documents and increased interest in the latest archival records. State and church archivists shared the concern for the existence of archival heritage in reborn Poland and it was already reflected in 1925, when it took a shape of a specific programme called “scientific organization of church archives”, and later on “an action on Roman Catholic church archives”. An inventory of church archives, conducted on a nationwide scale, became a basis for formulating demands that determined the areas of cooperation between church and state archivists at the 6th General Congress of Polish Historians in Vilnus, in 1935. These demands, which related to the education of church archivists and editions of church fonds inventories, remain still valid after almost one hundred years.
