Streszczenie

There are 32 state archives operating in Poland, whose tasks are set out in the Act on the National Archival Resources and Archives. One of the key tasks is archival inspections at organisations designated as producers of archival materials. The inspection itself provides an opportunity for direct interaction between the state archive and the inspected organisation. Ultimately, and in practical terms, this is a meeting between a state archive employee and a company archivist. The course of the inspection is defined by the emotions that arise during it and how both parties deal with them. The inspection may simply take place or serve as a catalyst for further and deeper cooperation based on the understanding built during the process. This is significant given the volume and manner of documentation creation (particularly in specialised ICT systems). The trust built may allow for joint action to improve the situation in the archives.
